Meadow Village Elementary needs your help
I would like to think those who volunteered for the library at the school but still more volunteers are needed. Can you give a few hours to help out? Please think about it.
I received a message from Ms. Sallie Frederick, the Principal and she has indicated with budget cuts, and their growth in attendance from 1% to 1.2% that help is needed. Ms. Frederick also indicated that last year they were able to give away prizes in drawings daily for students who were present. If anyone wants to donate items to give away, they will be greatly appreciated. Items from the dollar stores, from convention booths, etc. Everything is welcomed. The school does not have funds to purchase those items this year. Nor do we have funds to purchase the "dog tags" that the children love so much. We give those for "character awards" such as good citizenship, attendance, participation, improvement, etc. We appreciate all that your association does for us."
Meadow Village Elementary School and their staff throughout the years, and especially this year, has really helped our association out. They allow us to hold our monthly meetings there, they leave their air conditioning on in the cafeteria for us, they let us store our Hospitality Committee boxes in their storage room, deliver them to us and return them to storage. They advertise our meetings on their marquee. They clean up after our meetings, and don't complain if we sometime stay late. Anything we ask of them they are more than willing do to. Where would our association be without them? We really appreciate them. They truly take care of us and I would like to help take care of them in their time of need.
So, what I would like to ask, if anyone can donate any of these items or money for the school to purchase these items. It is a good deed that the school is doing in trying to get kids excited about school and education.
One more thing, it is again time to renew your PTA membership.. It is only $5.00 per person and you do not have to attend any meetings. You can join even if you have no children in school. The money received helps the PTA pay for field trips for the students, the funds all go back to "the students". We will have applications at our September 27th meeting.
See you all soon,
Virginia Salmons

Meadow Village Elementary School 210-397-0650 library volunteers needed.
Library help needed.
In order to keep our library open all day each day next year we will need volunteers. Would you put a request in your newsletter for volunteers. Volunteers would sit behind the desk and (scan books) check books in and out and maybe do a little shelving when there are no students in the library. They could set their own schedule and do as many days and/or hours as they want.

Street detours Marbach Meadow way
Please tell your friends and neighbors about this. In order to avoid this you could always use Timbercreek to Military or use 151 turn around to get to the otherside of Marbach. It will just be for a few days.
Please be aware of the future intersection work that will take place on the dates below. For the temporary closure at Meadow Way the contractor will provide a local detour using Meadow Leaf to exit the subdivision. Please help us get the word out to your Neighborhood Association members.
I wanted to give you an update on when we are scheduled to address the final water main tie-ins for Meadow way and Military for this phase, so that advanced notice to the general public can be addressed and AT&T can be aware of our schedule. Based on the revised traffic control details, Ballenger shall implement the revised traffic control configurations on the following dates:
Meadow Way- August 8 – 13th 2011, This will require the closure of Meadow Way through these dates
Military- August 15th- 24th 2011, My intention is to minimize the amount of time that we shut down the outer lane of Military drive, it is my belief that the work required in the outer lane of military is approximately 1-2 days.
